Role Summary
The Integration Program Director is responsible for managing and directing the integration of multiple, complex product development programs across internal teams and external vendors. This role provides strategic leadership, governance, and execution oversight to ensure that all programs align with business objectives, meet defined KPIs, and deliver measurable outcomes. The role requires deep experience in the health insurance industry and the ability to operate at both executive and delivery levels.
Key Responsibilities
Program & Portfolio Leadership
- Manage and direct the integration of three or more concurrent product development programs under a unified program framework.
- Oversee the interplay and integration between internally developed platforms and vendor-developed solutions, ensuring architectural alignment and operational cohesion.
- Act as the single point of accountability for cross-program dependencies, risks, and delivery outcomes.
Governance & Delivery Oversight
- Define, implement, and enforce a robust program governance model to ensure all projects meet agreed milestones, quality standards, and business outcomes.
- Establish clear decision-making frameworks, escalation paths, and accountability structures across all projects within the program.
- Ensure adherence to Agile/Scrum delivery practices while maintaining enterprise-level controls and visibility.
Executive Communication & Reporting
- Drive executive-level program updates through structured forums such as Scrum of Scrums, portfolio reviews, and steering committee meetings.
- Translate complex technical and delivery information into clear, outcome-focused updates for senior leadership.
- Provide proactive visibility into program health, risks, mitigation strategies, and forecasted delivery timelines.
Business Outcomes & Performance Management
- Ensure the program consistently meets defined business goals, KPIs, and strategic objectives.
- Monitor and optimize program performance across cost, schedule, scope, quality, and value realization.
- Align program deliverables with organizational priorities, regulatory requirements, and market needs within the health insurance domain.
Stakeholder & Vendor Management
- Partner closely with executive sponsors, product leaders, engineering teams, operations, and compliance stakeholders.
- Manage vendor relationships, ensuring contractual commitments, delivery expectations, and integration requirements are met.
- Resolve conflicts across teams and vendors to maintain forward momentum and delivery focus.
Required Qualifications
- Mandatory experience in the health insurance industry.
- Proven experience leading large-scale, multi-program integrations.
- Strong background in Agile delivery models including Scrum and Scrum of Scrums.
- Executive-level communication and leadership capabilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience integrating third-party vendor platforms with internally built systems.
- Experience in regulated payer or TPA environments.
- Program management certifications (PgMP, PMP, SAFe, or equivalent).
