We are now expanding our AI capabilities and seeking a visionary AI Architect to help shape the next generation of intelligent health benefits solutions.

Position Summary

The AI Architect will lead the design, development, and implementation of advanced AI and machine learning systems across our health insurance benefits platform. In addition, the architect must be able to run Proof-of-Concepts, Pilots, perform research to validate and recommend multiple aspects of AI such as AI Development Platform, AI Agentic Framework, Selection of LLM etc. The AI Architect should serve as an advisor to the Chief Technology Officer and other development resources within Heatlh in Tech.

This role will combine hands-on architecture, strategic planning, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure AI-driven products are scalable, compliant, secure, and impactful. You will help define our AI roadmap, influence product strategy, and ensure that innovative machine learning and generative AI solutions deliver real value to our clients and members.

Key Responsibilities

AI Strategy & Architecture

• Define the long-term AI/ML vision, architecture, and technology stack for the
• Develop scalable, secure, and compliant AI frameworks tailored for the health insurance and benefits ecosystem.
• Architect end-to-end AI pipelines including data ingestion, feature engineering, model training, evaluation, deployment, and monitoring.
• Partner with product leadership to identify high-impact use cases in areas such as claims analysis, plan recommendations, member experience, provider search, customer service automation, and operational efficiencies.

• Make appropriate AI Technology recommendations based on the use case and per the requirements of the enterprise.
• Act as an AI SME to the rest of the technology organization (i.e. Engineering, IT Operations, Security etc).

Design & Development

• Lead technical design of machine learning, NLP, predictive analytics, and generative AI
• Evaluate and integrate enterprise-grade AI platforms, LLMs, vector databases, and orchestration
• Build reusable AI components, microservices, and APIs that support multiple product
• Ensure AI models are reliable, explainable, and optimized for performance and

Qualifications Required:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, AI/ML, or a related field (Ph.D. is a plus).
• Minimum 7+ years of experience designing and deploying enterprise-grade AI/ML
• Strong hands-on experience with machine learning frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn).
• Expertise with cloud AI ecosystems (AWS SageMaker, Azure ML, or Google Vertex AI, LLMs like ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini etc).
• Solid understanding of vector databases, LLMs, RAG, , MCP, Agents, and MLOps
• Strong understanding of data architectures, APIs, microservices, and event-driven
• Experience with healthcare data standards (HIPAA, EDI, FHIR) and familiarity with claims and benefits data.

Preferred:

• Experience applying AI to health insurance, digital health, or health benefits
• Knowledge of actuarial models, clinical ontologies, risk scoring, or provider network
• Experience with prompt engineering, fine-tuning LLMs, and multimodal
