Position Summary
The Associate Software Engineer will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining core components of our benefits platform. This role is both hands-on and collaborative, requiring strong technical expertise, ownership of complex engineering projects, and the ability to work across teams. You will influence technical direction, drive best practices, and help evolve our architecture as we scale.
Key Responsibilities
Software Design & Development
- Architect, develop, and maintain high-quality, scalable backend and/or frontend
- Build APIs, microservices, and integrations that support health insurance benefits
- Implement robust, secure solutions aligned with healthcare compliance requirements (HIPAA, SOC 2, etc.).
- Optimize system performance, reliability, and scalability in a cloud-native
Technical Collaboration
- Participate in technical design discussions, code reviews, and architecture
- Work closely with product management, data engineering, QA, and UX teams to build & ship high-impact features.
- Contribute to the evolution of engineering standards, tooling, and CI/CD
Innovation & Problem-Solving
- Translate complex health benefits requirements into elegant technical
- Identify opportunities to automate processes, improve system quality, and enhance user
- Support migration efforts, modernization, and the adoption of new technologies where
Qualifications Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3 to 4 years of professional software engineering experience in a production
- Mandatory experience building cloud-native solutions using React/Next.js, Django Framework, GraphQL.
- Experience building cloud-native solutions using AWS, Azure, or
- Solid understanding of REST APIs, microservices, and event-driven
- Strong proficiency with one or more modern programming languages (e.g., Java, C#, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Go).
- Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB).
- Strong understanding of secure coding practices and data
Preferred:
- Experience in the health insurance, healthcare tech, or benefits management
- Familiarity with data standards such as EDI 834/837, FHIR, or claims processing
- Knowledge of containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience working on distributed systems or high-availability
- Exposure to AI-powered or analytics-driven product
